Following the critique, I decided to make some of the text more readable and allow some of the more important text to stand out. As I was marking my favorite words and phrases, I found it forming a kind of poem which I thought was quite beautiful. "Noticing more, cyclical nature of things. Rediscovery. It\"s a beautiful thing." I thought it fit perfectly with my new concept of rediscovery and the the coming to something entirely new.
Something else I did in response to the critique was adjust the lightbulb in my original version. I decided that going with a more Edison Bulb style would be more recognizable. I do not have any Edison style lightbulbs so I did have to source the image to use within my piece.
I also played around with different colors. By using the warmer version from my last update and the blue-green version with a luminosity blend mode, I think I was able to have a very vibrant color palette within the photo that I think is really intriguing and really exciting. I did also explore a more softer version with less saturation, which personally I really enjoy and it appears more realistic, but I think the more vibrant colors work well for this project.
I decided to add doodles with a more pencil line to contrast the more formal italic serif text. I think it also plays upon the idea of rediscovery and by creating a contrast between traditional and casual while also adding some additional interest to the piece and aiding in establishing the lightbulb as more of a focal point.
